Our client is currently seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst.
This is a six (6) month, contract position scheduled to start immediately.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing, validating, and managing test cases and test scripts;
Exercising necessary controls over testbeds, access, test facilities, and tools and testing support systems;
Executing quality control (manual and automated) tests at the systems level, ranging over sanity, full functional coverage, integration and regression;
Conducting testing in compliance with established procedures;
Documenting discovered problems; performing analysis to assist with determination of a defect or bug; working as required with other teams on analysis efforts; and, performing re-test of solved and fixed problems
Capturing test outcomes, documenting test plan results; and, issuing summary test reports;
Reporting status & progress of testing activity including regular review of problems / defects, escalating issues or situations affecting quality, progress, or schedule;
Producing and maintaining quality test documentation;
Automating test suites where feasible, practical, and cost-effective, utilizing available tools and technology (HP QTP);
Ensuring commitments to external or internal customers are met in a timely manner;
Soliciting feedback in order to improve work products, testing services, test coverage, and effectiveness of testing; and,
Providing support after hours and on weekends.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
Relevant work experience (5+ years) in a test & verification role;
Government of Canada security clearance at Level II (Secret) or above;
Knowledge of servers and data network;
Familiarity with Firewalls, Gateways, Routers;
Exposure and experience with a structured Systems / Services Life-Cycle Development process;
Exposure to a variety of test methodologies, and knowledge of a core of QA best practices;
Demonstrated capabilities in deriving testing strategies, determining required test coverage, and developing test plans based on requirements and (architectural, functional, and design) specifications;
Familiarity and some capability and competence with common and industry-standard test execution and test management tools and support systems (HP ALM, HP QTP);
Ability to work either independently or as part of a team; appropriately exercising time management and flexibility to effectively prioritize and ensure completion of work; and, ability to change priorities as the need arises;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship-building skills;
Experience with server systems administration, networking systems administration, systems integration and/or software design & development (an asset);
Good knowledge and experience with CA SiteMinder and CA IdentityMinder products (an asset);
Knowledge of, and experience with, LDAP directory products (an asset);
Familiarity with SQL and Oracle Database (an asset); and,
Knowledge of the ISO 27000 series of information security standards and controls (an asset).
